The Color of Palo Alto : Unveiling Event
July 29th, 2008
So seeing as the record industry is pretty lame, I am going to attempt to start my own, personal record label.
I was using “The Robot Within” as a pseudo-record label, but now I think its time to try it for real. More real. Can you even be real these days? What with all the atom-rearrangements and cellular data-forging…
The first release has already been chosen from my ever-growing library of noise and is en route to be finalized.
Welcome, Artomaton Records.
For starts…

The newest in new! Better than myspace!
Recently came off a 3 month “experiment” of zero internet connectivity at home, and minimal connectivity outside of home, in an attempt to gain clarity, vision, and purpose. During this period of minimalism, I spent a large chunk of time learning new skills, rekindling old hobbies, and building on my art practice.
I am actualizing a very creative future. And one with robots as our overlords… you know, typical day dream material…

Matt,
Seafaring is in major trouble and we’re pulling all clients off it. I wish I had better news. To take care of you we’d like to open an account for you in a new datacenter (Dallas) on a faster and more reliable server. Please see below for the account details.
We’ll keep you posted on the status of Seafaring.

Now powered again by Wordpress, because it is a familiar backend.
Damn script kiddies.
So I decided to wet my Ruby on Rails appetite by running the RoR backend Typo.
In order to do this I had to deviate from my normal webhost, indieos.com, because they do not have Ruby on Rails installed on their servers.
So for my RoR hosting needs, I turned to hostingrails.com. The only downside to this is that Hosting Rails only lets you run production level Rails apps.
Luckily, Typo runs in production mode, with no noticeable bugs.
That said, please let me know if you notice anything funky.
Silk shirts do not apply…
I finally decided to bite the bullet and make business cards. I picked Overnightprints.com based on my experience with them on a previous client’s cards.
Next, tee-shirts?
